I launched kandelstrategies.com, the website for my new legal PR consultancy, with the help of Google Gemini. I built it custom using GitHub Pages, vibe coding the pages and the CMS of my website with AI as a guide. I used a custom CMS for publishing using Pages CMS, billed as “The simplest CMS you’ll ever need” and “just as powerful as the big boys…”
I didn’t get a degree in computer science. But my communications degree is paying off.
I had to take on this technical project one small, patient “stepping stone” at a time rather than trying to do everything at once.
Gemini provided options when I asked for options, while I kept full creative control of the layout and content.
AI is useful if you know what to ask it.
You need to be clear and specific, for sure. But I find that I like to focus on one task at a time. This allows me to test the output and clarify if I get an unwanted result.
And I like to have it ask me the questions it needs up front, rather than get into extra-long back-and-forth chat sessions. AI can help you build sites and automations. But it takes patience and a “beginner’s mind.”
It started with a question: “Do I really need the Cadillac of content management systems?” Or could I have Google Gemini help me build one?
Gemini helped me build my own personal guitar practice app. That taught me to work through a technical project one question at a time. So why not?
Beyond the initial build, the ongoing strategy involves using AI agents to continually evaluate the site’s structure and content, from code tweaks to structured FAQs that help visitors and AI search tools find clear answers about legal PR.
AI surfaces structural changes I might not have known about, but human judgment ensures the content remains accurate and authentic. Along the way, using these AI tools refines my daily workflow and sharpens my understanding of where this tech adds real value.
